Christmas Devotional Revisited 2022
December 14th
Centenary Christmas Devotional - 2009
Read Luke 1:76-80

Our church is filled with servants. They work hard to prepare our weekend bulletins, prepare the sanctuary, donate flowers, work on the grounds, maintain the facilities, serve on committees, financially give, and the list goes on and on. These acts of service prepare us for our weekend services in which our Pastor and musicians are able to lead us in Worship.
John before he could talk was called “to prepare the way for him (vs. 76).” John had a specific job and it was not to be the Savior of the World. Many times in ministry, we may serve in a roll that does not get much attention, yet the job is important. Though John did get a lot of attention, it was all in humble servanthood to Jesus Christ. The faces that are seen and unseen during services are all there to point us to our Savior, who is the reason we celebrate Christmas.

Digging Deeper
- How does Jesus shine on those living in darkness? Or how can Jesus rescue those in darkness?
- How has God guided your feet into peace? (e.g. controlling anger with others, patience in a tough situation, etc.)
Suggested Prayer: Prayer that God would encourage the many volunteers at Centenary.
A Special Christmas Memory
My daughter and son-in-law gave me a cross necklace for Christmas. They are not Christians so it was special that they acknowledged how much my faith means to me.
