Who was instrumental in your life in helping you to meet and/or follow Jesus?
I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home, my parents being my main Christian role models. I attended the same church over 30 years, until that church had to close its doors. My family was very active in church - if the doors were open, we were there. I remember various pastors and Sunday School teachers who all helped me learn of Jesus - faithful Christ followers who taught me about the love of God, and about Christ’s sacrifice for me. They all encouraged me to walk with Christ. The list is long . . .
Church family camp every summer was always packed with Bible teaching and preaching. At age 12, when the camp evangelist was Cecil Jeffery, I went forward to commit my life to Christ. My high school years were full of church youth activities, led by faithful youth leaders, and my closest friends were those in our youth group. I attended college at a Christian University, where I enjoyed the Christian fellowship of my fellow students, as well as the support of Christian staff and faculty.
In 1988, Mark and I began attending Centenary, and have continued our walk under the guidance of several good pastors and Bible study leaders. God has been good to us, and we know He is with us as we all journey together toward our eternal home.
