Questions - Do we still look outside of Jesus to find salvation? What can we learn from this Scripture today?
Grab your journal or use the notes section on your phone.
Respond to the Scripture reading with your thoughts, questions, and/or prayer response to today’s Bible verses.
Who was instrumental in your life in helping you to meet and/or follow Jesus?
My journey to a Christ-led life was a process. My mother planted a seed by raising us in the Catholic Church, but I did not attend church or believe in Jesus until I was 31. In a 12-step recovery meeting, broken and struggling, I knew I needed a higher power. My sponsor told me about hers- Jesus. I told her all the reasons why I couldn’t believe in Jesus. She said she had felt the same. Then she said, “If God was small enough for me to understand, he’d be too small to do me any good.” Selfishly, I began to learn about who He was by reading scripture and attending different churches. Then another friend shared often about her joy in being in a relationship with Jesus. I witnessed what her life is like as she obeys his commands. It wasn’t easy or glamourous, but it was beautiful. Then I found a church where I felt like family. It spread to my family as my children began believing. Through prayer and God’s grace, my husband became a believer. He has been instrumental in leading us to a relationship with Jesus that is constant and set apart for God.
