Questions - What did the crowd do to Paul (14:19)? After the disciples helped him, what did Paul do? What do you think motivated Paul to persevere in sharing the message of Jesus?
Grab your journal or use the notes section on your phone.
Respond to the Scripture reading with your thoughts, questions, and/or prayer response to today’s Bible verses.
Who was instrumental in your life in helping you to meet and/or follow Jesus?
I was not brought up in a Christian home. At age 12, I first remember thinking I should pray to a God when our neighbor, age 40, developed terminal cancer. At this same time my brother Dave and high schoolers from our cul-de-sac began attending Young Life (YL) meetings at friends' homes. They were well attended with silly skits, lively singing, and a brief gospel message at the close. Finally in 9th grade, I was thrilled to attend and hung on every word taught about Jesus, (but was a little miffed that I had not known about him sooner!) I had lots of thoughts and questions.
Diana M., one of the YL leaders was there to talk, answer questions, & walk beside me in this new faith journey. She invited me to her NT bible study, weekend camps, and a summer camp in Colorado where she was my counselor as I heard the Gospel in more detail every night for a week. One early morning at Lake Almanor 2 weeks later, I got on my knees and asked Jesus to be my Lord. The same day I sent Diana a postcard with waterskiing news, campfire events, and my big news about becoming a Christian. Upon returning home on my porch, I found a big, colorful package celebrating my new beginning and welcoming me to the family of God. That was July 27, 1975.
