When I was in college, I was approached by a Youth Leader to attend a Missions Trip to Scotland. It was the end of April and training camp would begin at the end of June. That left me less than two months to raise over $3000 dollars. I was excited for the opportunity but felt I would have a hard time receiving my mom’s consent. When she amazingly supported the opportunity, it was one of my confirmations to go. With many steps of faith, miracles (strangers giving me money), much prayer, the money was raised and I embarked on an experience that has been an incredible anchor of my faith to this day.
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10. God had prepared a role for Elizabeth and Mary in His plan. How is God using you today? Has God been leading you in a direction that you have been uncertain to take? God may have a role for you in serving in the church with children, volunteering in the office, or even calling you to a short-term or long-term missions trip. Will you allow God to say to you “Blessed is she/he who has believed that what the Lord said to her will be accomplished?”

- What are some “good works” God has provided you the opportunity to do?
Suggested Prayer: Pray for the missionaries around the world.
A Special Christmas Memory from Kay and Warren H.
When our children were of early to middle elementary school age and did their Christmas shopping for Kay and me, they were limited by how much they could spend, but the choice of what to purchase was left up to them. Opening these gifts was always an adventure. Watching the excitement in their faces and hearing their explanations for their choice was always a joy.
